This is a century old program, that is said to have originated in the days of King Arthur of Camelot. It was brought to the United States by an English general during the American Indian Wars. At that time, military scouts were being captured by the Indians and tortured until they gave up information, as to the size, and location of American forces. Scouts were vitally important to military success on the battlefield, however, a captured scout that was tortured into giving up information about his fellow soldiers which resulted in many unnecessary deaths. Our generals had no solution to this problem. The English general gave them the answer they had been looking for. He told them that only men of extra ordinary strength of character could endure the pain inflicted, and remain loyal until death. He explained to them, that in order to train men to have this super strength of character that they must be trained as a child. Thus, a military training organization is known as the “Boy Scouts of America” was formed. This Knighthood training proved itself in combat, then, just as it had in ancient times. It has been said that “all it takes for evil to prevail is for good men, and women to do nothing”! Our program is one of positive action! True strength of character is a powerful weapon in the arsenal of Christian Knights. We are not a church. We do not teach any religious preference or any type of doctrine. We do encourage all students to trust in Christ, and to follow his examples.
